Initial Assessment or Emotional Processing?

Initial Assessment Session

During the initial assessment session, we gain a clearer picture of the direction your life has taken so far. We look at which situations tend to repeat, what feels difficult to change, and which core emotions lie behind your choices.

This session helps us understand:

  • what patterns show up consistently in your life

  • which reactions or behaviors create difficulties for you

  • how you relate to yourself and to others

  • which emotions are at the foundation of your decisions

This is a stage of exploration and clarification. It offers a broad overview, without yet going into depth. Practically speaking, it’s like taking a step back to see things more clearly and in a more organized way.

It is especially recommended when you feel confused or unsure where to begin.

Emotional Processing and Integration Sessions

In these sessions, we work in a focused way. We choose a single pattern, emotion, or clearly defined difficulty and concentrate exclusively on it.

We reduce complexity to one well-defined point and go to the root cause of that pattern. We explore:

  • when and how it appeared

  • what triggered it

  • which emotions are associated with it

  • how it can be worked through so it no longer repeats

The goal of these sessions is emotional processing and integration, so you can step out of repetitive cycles and create real change—not just intellectual understanding.

Examples of Clear Themes

Difficulties in intimate relationships
Often, these difficulties are connected to the relationship with one of the parents. Patterns formed there tend to repeat in adult life, as an unconscious attempt to repair or understand that early relationship. Emotional work helps process these experiences and supports the maturation of current relationships.

Lack of joy in life
For example, during childhood, the joy of expressing yourself, laughing, or playing may have been discouraged through criticism or rejection. Over time, this state gradually diminished until it became difficult to access. Emotional processing helps reopen this capacity to feel joy.

Lack of initiative
This often appears when, in childhood, initiative was repeatedly criticized or punished. To avoid rejection, the body and emotions learned to withdraw. Therapeutic work helps bring awareness to this dynamic and supports regaining trust in your own actions.

Etc.

Why it’s helpful to know which type of session suits you

When you choose the right type of session, the process becomes clearer and more efficient. You work exactly on what you need in that moment, without confusion.

If you recognize yourself in these descriptions, I invite you to ask yourself:
Where do you feel you need more clarity right now?
Are you at a point where you want to better understand what keeps repeating in your life, or do you already have a clear topic you’d like to work on?

You can write in the comments or send me a private message if you feel you need support.
